Once this frame was gilded and distressed lightly, the centre panel was painted in primer and then a couple of coats of paint were applied. Next the panel was brushed with some wax and dusted over with pigments. When I was gilding this frame I wanted to take some step by steps photos, showing how I brake down a profile like this into sections when cutting the gold leaf, but I did not have my camera so will do it another time.
