Fancy Compo Corners
Another example of a large composition 19th Century frame, this one has a rebate size of 55" x 40" and would make a super mirror.

Skip find
This antique mirror frame came into the workshop this afternoon, it was being thrown away and was on top of a pile of household rubbish in a skip! One of my regular customers saw it and asked how much the throwers-away wanted for it, but they did not want any cash, they were just happy for it to be taken away. This was in a village close to the workshop, I wish I had driven past and seen it first!
It's in good condition, various areas of damage to the gesso/gilding, some missing ornament, and one of the column capitals has a section missing, but once all this is repaired it will be a great overmantle mirror.

Another mirror frame...
I made a frame and ornamented spandrel like this one a while ago, it was just an idea and as an experiment really. The first one sold in the shop the day I finished it! so I thought I would make another and put a mirror in this one. It is a simple bronze powder finish.

Silver gilded
This late 20th Century water gilded silver leaf frame is a beauty, it has a lovely distressed and aged look. It was brought to the workshop today, and will be fitted with a bevelled edge mirror.

Water gilded frame with spandrel
This hand made water gilded frame has a gilded slip called a spandrel fitted, this is used to fit a round or other shaped painting into a rectangular frame. In this case it is not a painting but a mirror, frames like this are available for sale at my workshop, and can be made in any traditional or contemporary style, and to any size.
