Cut down moulding
A couple of pictures of a moulding before and after it has been cut to make two separate mouldings. The outer part of the frame is required for an order and will be gilded.
Gilded swept
Making a water gilded swept frame, some faulting and patching is needed, and then some burnishing. After these stages are done it will be distressed and toned.

As much as I like art and paintings in frames, there is something about a beautiful empty antique frame hung on a wall which I almost prefer.
